The Northern District also has courthouses in Syracuse and Utica. Warren County cases are assigned to Albany. The district covers 32 counties in upstate New York. The trip from Lake George to Albany runs about an hour on the Northway.

Bankruptcy Exemptions for Warren County
Warren County filers choose between state and federal exemptions. Under Section 282 of the Debtor and Creditor Law, the homestead exemption in Warren County is $102,400 in equity. The motor vehicle exemption is $5,500 above liens.
Retirement accounts are protected up to $1,711,975 per person for cases filed between April 2025 and March 2028. Social Security, veterans' benefits, and unemployment compensation are fully exempt. The Department of Financial Services updates these figures every three years. Two years of New York residency is needed to claim state exemptions.

Get the tracking details from the court first, then request through NARA. A full case file runs $90. Selected documents are $35 each. Certification adds $15.
